The Sydney Morning Herald carries a moving tribute this morning to former Attorney Frank Walker.
While the comments this morning have focused on this work as a civil libertarian and a lawyer, he was also instrumental in fight in the Wran cabinet taking early steps towards conservation in NSW.
Working closely with Milo Dunphy and Wran, behind the scenes Walker was a driving force in the early transfers of land from state forest to national park estate. Those disputes included the battle over Terania Creek in northern NSW.
